The Medibank Melbourne Ice showed up and put on a display many people are describing as the best hockey ever played by the Melbourne Ice club. With the finals being a one shot winner takes all format, Melbourne’s heros took their game to a new level not yet seen before. ICE completely dominated the talented Adelaide side, applying sustained pressure for the full 45 minutes. There were some standout moments and individual brilliance but the team refuses to acknowledge individuals as they play as one for each other.
To the delight of the fans, the young Academy players who have been building experience throughout 2011, got their chances to showcase exactly what this great club has to offer in the near future.
