2012 is a very special year for Medibank Melbourne Ice, as we celebrate playing 10 seasons in the AIHL and face-off for the opportunity to win 3 championships in a row, which has never been achieved in our league before.

Are you ready to play for Medibank Melbourne Ice? Like every year, Melbourne Ice maintain an open tryout policy and we extend an open invitation to anyone who wants to join in the ACTION and compete at the highest level Australia has on offer. The AIHL is for serious ice hockey players who want to test their skills against the best players in the country and the elite imports that join the league each year. Over the next 5 weeks at the Medibank Icehouse you can join in and tryout. Please note this is the highest level in the country and players are trying out, so expect the sessions to be tough and physical.
Session Times & Dates
January 7th (Saturday) – 4:30pm to 6pm
January 20th (Friday) – 10:30pm to 12am
January 26th (Thursday) – 9:15pm to 10:45Pm
February 4th (Saturday) – 8:00pm to 9:30pm
Balance of February and March times to be confirmed shortly.
Training camp and final selection weekend of 24th & 25th of March 2012
*Please be ready and dressed in the rooms 15 minutes before the start time for the coaches briefing
The coaching staff will be looking for players who want to buy into the Melbourne Ice culture and are dedicated to playing on a winning team. In addition to just tryouts for the main squad we will have a few spots available in our Academy Program for players who want to develop the elite skills needed to play AIHL level ice hockey. The Academy is not just about ice hockey skills, through the program you will learn life skills whilst enjoying the friendship that comes with being part of the Melbourne Ice family.
